Treligan (Novascape Limited) – Research Participant Privacy Notice

We are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy notice explains how and why Novascape Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and retains your personal data for the purposes of conducting research, including surveys, interviews, market research, social research, and stakeholder engagement activities.

2. Who is the Data Controller?
Novascape Limited (trading as Treligan) acts as the data controller for the research project(s) in which you are invited to participate. If another organisation jointly sponsors or funds the project, they may also be a data controller—these will be identified in your project invitation.

3. What information do we collect?
Depending on the research activity, we may collect:

  • Name and contact details (e.g., email address, telephone number)

  • Demographic information (e.g., age, gender, ethnicity, job title, organisation, location)

  • Your responses and opinions (e.g., survey or interview responses)

  • Audio, video, or written recordings if interviews or focus groups are conducted

  • Any other information you voluntarily share relevant to the research aims.

4. Why do we collect your information?
Your personal data may be processed for:

  • Conducting and analysing research, surveys, workshops, or interviews

  • Contacting you for research participation or related feedback

  • Reporting aggregated, anonymised research outcomes to clients or partners

  • Meeting statutory and regulatory requirements relating to research.

We typically process your data either on the basis of:

Your participation is always voluntary. You may refuse to answer questions or withdraw from the research at any time without giving a reason. If you withdraw, we will delete your data wherever possible.

All personal data is securely stored and only accessible to authorised staff or subcontracted researchers strictly for the purposes outlined. Data is anonymised or pseudonymised wherever practical before analysis and reporting. We do not sell your data or use it for direct marketing.

We may share anonymised or aggregated findings with partners or research clients. Identifiable data will only be shared outside Novascape Limited where necessary and with your explicit consent, or where required by law.

9. Data retention
Your personal data will only be retained for as long as necessary for the research, usually no more than 12 months after project completion unless otherwise stated. After this period, your personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised.

  • Withdraw consent and request deletion (subject to legal obligations)

  • Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances
